Lose Contact with the REAL World through Music?
I Pray we both do!  If I need anymore of the ugliness of the REAL World
I'll watch more news, read more bunk arsed newspapers and listen to gangsta' rap...no thanks.
Ignore those people.  They sound like the ones who are truly "lost" to me.
Wake up to what?  Crap jobs, little or no money, people wearing ridiculous clothing, violence, men and women snarfing on vile 2 ton plates of food, little freedom, liars and vampires?
No Thanks.
The Music I Choose to listen to IS my reality.
The music I listen to sounds to me like my life.
I don't listen to friendly radio and I don't ask the record store clerk
what's new and hot and a top seller so that I can be "IN" with the In Crowd...

Lose contact with the real world?
Slaves sang gospel to forget their woes of the real world.  The blues was born in a similar fashion...Men and Women sang the blues because in the "Real" world, maybe they had no money, had no love, got no job, and white people tellin' them that they gotta sit in the back of the gawd damned bus and couldn't get service in many establishments because of their skin colour....You tell these so called awakened people to shove it where the sun don't shine...and you...you should keep on dreaming.

I guess the soundtrack to my life would sound something like this...

The Cult - Little Face / All Souls Avenue
The Verve - Blue Pacific Ocean / Already There / On Your Own
Nick Cave - Muddy Waters (cover) / Sleeping Analeah (cover) / Up jumped the Devil / let the bells ring / Come into my Sleep
Mark Lanegan - Every Album including his work with the Soulsavers
Suede - Young Men / W.S.D. / This Time / Where the Pigs don't Fly / Metal Mickey
The Gun Club - Lucky Jim / Port of Souls
Morcheeba - By the Sea
Air - The Virgin Suicides L.p. / Le soleil est près de moi
The Smiths - Strangeways here we come / The Queen is Dead
Hank Williams Sr. - Weary blues from waitin' / Lone gone lonesome blues / Long Gone Daddy
Howlin' Wolf - Evil
Nina Simone - Wild is the Wind
ALL B.R.M.C.
and
if I keep on going on we'll never get out of here...but something like that....

Follow your own heart and wishes...those people don't see what you see or the way you see it and they don't have to live in your head all day and night.  Stick with the music and let them keep their "real" world...fuck 'em... you just keep on kicking against the pricks and don't forget to eat your Motorhead and Cocteau Twins for a healthy heart and Mind.

bless yer heart

When I met you in the restaurant you could tell I was no debutante.
You asked me what's my pleasure, "A movie or a measure"?
I'll have a cup of tea and tell you of my dreaming.
Dreaming is free.
I don't want to live on charity.
Pleasure's real or is it fantasy?
Reel to reel is living verite.
People stop and stare at me, we just walk on by; we just keep on dreaming.
Beat feet, walking a two-mile.
Meet me, meet me at the turnstile.
I never met him, I'll never forget him.
Dream dream: even for a little while.
Dream dream: filling up an idle hour.
Fade away, radiate.
I sit by and watch the river flow.
I sit by and watch the traffic go.
Imagine something of your very own; something you can have and hold.
I'd build a road in gold just to have some dreaming.
Dreaming is free.
