If you’re a fan of Nick Cave, then you probably would have been across Mercy on Me, the incredible graphic novel by Reinhard Kleist that came out last year. A bizarre journey into the Cave world, the book examined the artist from his childhood, right through to his work with The Birthday Party and The Bad Seeds.
Being a graphic novel, the illustrations are the centrepiece of the book. Now fans will have the chance to appreciate them on their own with a separate coffee table book coming out this March via London-based indie publisher SelfMadeHero.
Reinhard Kleist’s amazing illustrations exploring the work of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds are coming together in a new coffee table book.
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds: An Art Book is set to bring together Kleist’s moody portraits of the musician and his band, spanning 30 years of his writing, recordings and live shows.
Printed in a LP-sized coffee table format, the book also dives into Cave’s enigmatic imaginative world with comic book reimaginings of tracks like Deanna, The Good Son and Stagger Lee.
Check the book out via the Nick Cave website or on SelfMadeHero and see some of it below (all illustrations credited to Reinhard Kleist).
