Hot, sweaty, but a great chance to see the band close up. Was good to listen to so much of the new album live.

Great night for lots of reasons.

I travelled up from Plymouth, Devon for this gig and I surely wasnt disappointed....
It was great in the fact that it was just them and no support band..the set wasnt totally polished..there were errors but that just added to the enjoyment and enthralment of the night...the new songs were just superb, loving all the acoustic stuff. It was definitley one of the wettest gigs I have ever been too...not bad considering it was indoors..Cant wait for the Portsmouth gig now..a repetition of this night would just be..well... superb again.....

This review, i pulled up from comments i made on the forum in the days following the gig.

Just a note before the main review, I’ll forever know this gig as the one I spent an hour walking to find a subway shop… I walked straight passed it & didn’t realise! So I wasted an hour before the show trying to find some damm food! In the end, got something from the local supermarket instead.

I absolutely loved the gig... got some really cracking (new) songs. Those that stick in my mind are noose & devils. I think they've drastically improved shuffle & aint no easy way was just cracking, i had such a big smile for those two songs!

When Peter picked up his trombone to play promise, it was very amusing! ... i saw him give rob & spike a few nervous looks as he picked it up & looked at it & them as if to say 'can i really play this thing? should i? fuck!' it was hilarious but you know... just showed how much is on the line for them.

I actually managed to get rob's plec... but i' misplaced it, i swear i put it in my pocket, but maybe i just dropped it on the floor at that time? duh. anyway, got a handwritten setlist

ah yeah... another memory... well, i was stood in front of rob, he had a whale of a time during spread your love... he turned his mike towards us & was just shouting along with us having a laugh & enjoying the moment. he threw his mic stand onto the floor... a roadie came on to pick it up, rob put his foot on it & gave the roadie a look & a laugh as to say = LEAVE IT!

ALSO... the crowd fucking up the handclaps during one of the new songs, they were SO outta time (pete was singing alone)

I do remember this show, the band weren't playing very 'tight'. Looking back, seems obvious how it was their first time playing these new songs.
