This was the fourth time I'd been to a festival in Britain, but the first time I had to endure a bus ride packed with other festival goers to get there. The bus trip seemed to take forever, but it was worth it. Since T in the Park is out in a field in the countryside, the scenery from the bus was quite beautiful.
The line-up for the day was decent. Before BRMC came on, I was able to catch the Dandy Warhols and part of Primal Scream's set. However, whoever scheduled the line-up should be shot, as they had BRMC and Idlewild on at the same time. Right at the time when Idlewild was touring in support of the massively successful "Remote Part" album. It was a difficult choice to make, but I made it, and BRMC won. Many of my friends went the other way though. Traitors.
Despite the conflicting time-slot with Idlewild, the King Tuts Wah Wah Tent was full. Although I'm sure many others will disagree with me, I was happy to see BRMC playing in a tent. It gives it a more intimate atmosphere versus the open field experience. The show, of course, was great. Very animated. Very electrified. Very loud. Just the way I like it. It would have been perfect had some guy not grabbed my ass, prompting me to punch him (hard) in the shoulder. Fun times...
