I gotta say... as pleasantly surpised as I was that STP was tight as hell and played a great set.... I actually was more into the BRMC opening set... I was lucky enought to score 7th row seats (so i had amps and sub-woofers right in my face it was L-O-U-D and I was loving it) I was really drawn into the aura and vibe that this band creates with just three band members (three and half, if you count the dude in the back helping out on keys and stuff... YES! I SEE YOU!!!) I love the fact that they can balls-out rock a song with a fast pumping beat, but at the same time aren't scared to just ride along on a groove for 2 or 3 (or more) minutes without needing to sing, solo, or spoon-feed you a hooky chorus... They're not scrambling and begging to be liked... either you get it, or you don't. The songs and the sound speak for themselves. I respect that 100% ... I think that on my personal top 10... this band will be pulling up alongside my all time favorite band with a similarly long-ass name (Queens of the stone age).... BRMC Rocked Jones beach... the seats may have not been all full due to the time and slot, but the ones that were got their f*kin money's worth.
