This was a up-for it rocking gig at the full to bursting Liquid Rooms, a chance to get close to the band at an intimate venue.
Solo start from Peter, with Faultline, and it was great to hear his acoustic playing, close up. Robert joined him in time to do harmony vocals for Devil's Waiting. Full band from then on, until the closer, a tear-jerkingly lovely Open Invitation played by Peter on harmonium.
The songs from Howl sounded even better live than on the album. Spike added great guitar, bass, keys and backing vocals. A suprise was Peter playing trombone and harmonium.
Down Here was announced by Robert as a request from a long-term fan.
This is the first time I've seen them play since Nick rejoined and it was great to see him back. I think this line-up is even more powerful than when I saw them at the Carling Academy in Glasgow early last year, and I enjoyed this gig best of the three I've been to.
A well up for it crowd had a ball.
Special thanks to Peter, Robert and Nick for taking the time to chat with folk outside after the gig; I was well chuffed to get my ticket signed.

Awesome...the fourth and best time i've seen the boys. The new stuff sounded amazing and it was a joy to see them in such a cool little venue. I sincerely hope they play there again. As someone mentioned previously, i'm slightly unsure about the future for BRMC - the boys seemed to be in a slightly 'farewell' mood ans the closing open invititation, although siperb, was ominous. I hope i'm wrong...

Also gutted the set was cut short by crazy liquid room curfew bollox.
